Modding the V3r Razr.
by WeAreNotAlone and poetic_folly
Gentlemen / Ladies,
The Motorola Razr V3r is a newer edition of the Razr, being sold now instead of the original Razr V3. This guide section will provide a ton of great info on how to mod your new Razr, which is different than the original Razr.
Coming from a R374 V3 (the original ones) I've noticed that the R3443U2 V3r (the newer firmware version which is on the V3r's) uses a different bootloader 0A.50 / 0A.52 than previous V3's runnng the 07.D0, 8.23, or 8.26 bootoader. (as well as a revised file system: a and c root directories showing instead of everything in a like on the R374 V3's).
Because of this, a lot of the procedures and programs to mod the phones are slighty different (which is to be expected). Problem is, if you're used to modding with a traditional Razr V3, and you're not careful with your new V3r, you can brick the phone. One big plus in the old R374 V3's favor was the bootloader being available for download, and pretty much anything you want being in a guide somewhere. V3R bootloaders are nowhere to be found, so you will need to use the correct procedures unless you want to "brick" your phone, make it into a paperweight.
Here's some info on the differences between the two types of V3:
Models:
V3 series:
V3 (R374) 07.D0, 8.23, 8.26 bootloader.
8.26 and 8.23 are RSA protected which restricts what you can "do" to a "stock" phone, however, the V3 (R374)'s are easily modded because you can easily downgrade a phone running the 8.26, 8.23 bootloader to 07.D0. (07.D0 doesn't having the RSA protection, so the phone can be modded.)
V3R series:
V3r's use a new bootloader (and a new file system, a and c drive). Orginal V3's just have a, so this means file system is slightly different.
V3r (R4515). 0A.30 bootloader, RSA protected
V3R (R3443U2). 0A.50 / 0A.52 bootloader RSA protected
This model is the one typically sold by TMobile US.
As a side note to the bootloaders, 8.23 and 8.26 can be downloaded, I haven't found 0A.52 for download, so feel free to post info on that, although 0A.30 bootloader is available here.

Programs confirmed to WORK with V3R R3443U2 T-Mobile USA V3R with the 0A.52 bootloader:
P2k Tools 0.8.6 (build 486)
Flash&Backup 3.0.058. Apply the patches that have the correct profiles, it will say V3r with My Favs in the model selection box AFTER applying the patch. The patch for R3443U2 is here and the patch for R4515 is here. Click here for directions on how to install these.
RSD Lite v 3.3 file version 2006, 45, 0, 1
Procedures/tips:
1: DRM?s from the 4515 can be used on the R3443U2, but not the other way around.
2: from kirklestat: If you happen to flash a R3443U2 DRM to your R4515 and you?ve bricked it, you can simply revive it by flashing your stock R4515 MP using FB3, uncheck all CGs except CG15.
3: Fonts can be NO bigger that 19 pixels.
4: It has been posted, (but not confirmed?) that FLEXES from the R4515 can be used on the R3443U2.
5: Use RSD lite instead of PST /MultiFlashFlex to flash phone.
